We are providing the following for your information:
HITCO Closed Monday, February 17, 2025
We have been informed by HITCO Moving & Storage that they will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of President’s Day. Our Hilo delivery services will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
HITCO, our delivery agent in Hilo, Hawaii, helps support our seamless coverage across the East side of the Big Island.
New San Leandro Terminal in Northern California
As a reminder, we are pleased to announce that DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express has moved its Northern California operations to its new San Leandro terminal on January 10, 2025.
All freight and courier deliveries and general correspondence should be sent to the new address.

Hawaii Service Rates for 2025
As a reminder, in their effort to keep pace with rising costs, Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) announced they increased container rates by $200 per westbound and $100 per eastbound container, effective January 5, 2025.
On the same date, the Terminal Handling Charge (THC) for Hawaii has increased by the following amounts:
● West Coast to Honolulu Increase $100 per container to $1,625
● West Coast to Neighbor Islands Increase $200 per container to $1,725
● Honolulu to West Coast Increase $50 per container to $840
● Neighbor Island to West Coast Increase $100 per container to $890
Additional assessorial charges have increased by the following amounts:
● Hazardous Ocean Surcharge Increase $50 per container to $425
Matson has further explained these increases are necessary to help offset continuing inflationary cost pressure. As Neighbor Island costs are higher than Oahu, they are increasing the THC at a higher rate for those islands.
As a result, our Hawaii rates have increased like amounts for Full Container Loads (FCL). For Less-than-Container Load (LCL) cargo, our Customer rates will be raised based on various factors, including the commodity, density, and current costs. These changes have occurred with shipments sailing on or after January 5, 2025. Please get in touch with your Salesperson to discuss adjustments to your rate levels.
Due to increased costs in Hawaii, delivery and accessorial rates have increased as follows –
- Oahu 5% with the exception of Will Call rates and Zone 1 spot rates
- Hilo 6%
- Kauai 4%

Guam, CNMI, and Micronesia Service Rates for 2025
As a reminder, in their effort to keep pace with rising costs, Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) announced that they have increased its Guam, CNMI, and Micronesia tariffs by the following increments effective February 2, 2025:

Vehicle $100 Vehicle $100
Hazardous Cargo $50 Hazardous Cargo $50
As a result, our Guam, CNMI, and Micronesia rates have increased by similar amounts for FCL-Full Container Loads. For LCL-Less-than-Container Load cargo, our Customer rates will be raised based on various factors, including the commodity, density, and current costs. These changes have occurred with shipments sailing on or after February 2, 2025. Please get in touch with your Account Executive to discuss any adjustments to your current rate levels.
