The following is provided for your information:

 

East / Gulf Coast Dockworker Strike

As you may have seen in news reports, the International Longshore (ILA), which represents dockworkers at ports on the U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coast, has announced that its members have begun a strike following a breakdown in contract negotiations.

 

At this time, our ocean carriers are not experiencing any impact, nor do they expect any significant impact on their services off the West Coast. As a reminder, our ocean carrier vessels call exclusively at West Coast ports, where the current longshore union contract runs through July 1, 2028.

 

We are monitoring the situation carefully and will continue to provide updates if anything changes. We are focused on timely and dependable service for our customers.

Holiday Schedules

The offices listed below will be closed for the holidays as follows:

Australia	Labour Day (Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra)	October 7
Japan	Sports Day	October 14
New Zealand	Labour Day	October 28

 

Please remember that certain offices are across the International Dateline. The dates above are their dates, not the actual U.S. date. 

 

Fuel-Related Surcharge Increase – Hawaii / Guam / Micronesia

As a reminder, we received advisement that the Hawaii and Guam Ocean Carriers have increased their FRSC effective Sunday, September 1, 2024, due to increased fuel-related costs. The surcharge for Hawaii service has increased from 22.0% to 23.5%, and for Guam/CNMI and Micronesia, from 23.0% to 24.5%.

For customers who have not yet transitioned to the tariff restructuring, the surcharge for Hawaii service has increased from 44% to 45.7%, and for Guam/Micronesia, from 46% to 47.8%.

Island Service Rate Increases Effective September 2024

Due to continued increases in business operations and overall cost, most of our island service rates in Maui and Kona have increased, effective for shipments sailing on and after September 1, 2024.

 

 

Maui     Westbound cube delivery rates, including will-call    7%

Westbound spot delivery rates will remain unchanged

Local trucking and delivery accessorial rates            6%

*warehousing and storage rates will remain unchanged*

 

Kona     All related delivery and accessorial rates                  5%

*will call rates will remain unchanged*
