Holiday Schedules

The offices listed below will be closed for the holidays as follows:

Please remember that certain offices are across the International Dateline. The dates above are their dates, not the actual U.S. date.

Memorial Day Holiday Schedule and Cutoffs – Monday, May 29, 2023

DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express – Southern California:

The cutoff for hazardous freight to Guam will be 5:00 pm PST Thursday, May 25 and for non-hazardous freight 5:00 pm PST Friday, May 26 for the Wednesday, May 31 sail.

The cutoff for non-hazardous freight to Hawaii will be Tuesday, May 30 for the Wednesday, May 31 sail. There will be no hazardous cargo to Hawaii for the Wednesday, May 31 sail. Hazardous freight received Friday, May 26 will be rolled to the Saturday, June 3 sail.

DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express – Northern California:

The cutoff for the Honolulu and Guam Sailing of May 30 is Thursday, May 25 at noon for both hazardous and non-hazardous freight.

DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express – Seattle: There is no sailing affected by this holiday.

Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) has advised their port schedules for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday as follows:
 
Matson’s Hawaii and Guam service port facilities will observe the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 29. Hours of operation are noted below by location. 

State of HI Wharfage & Port Security Fee Increases Effective July 1, 2023

As part of the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Harbors Division’s financing plan for its Harbors Modernization Program, the State has been phasing in wharfage and port security fee increases on July 1 over the last several years. These fees support important development work under the Harbors Modernization Program: expanding harbor capacity, accommodating advancements in containerized cargo handling, alleviating congestion and shortage of available operational space, and developing more adaptable and resilient port facilities.

We have been informed by Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) that the State has announced increases of 5.2% to both wharfage and port security fees, effective July 1, 2023. To mirror these State fee increases, Matson will increase their related charges by the identical amounts on July 1, 2023.

DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express will pass through these increased State fees for shipments sailing on and after Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Warehousing and Storage

We have warehousing and storage for palletized goods in Honolulu, Maui, Kona, and Guam. Our customers can monitor inventory levels, ship an order with same-day/next-day delivery, and use our facilities as a potential “back of the store.” In doing so, Customers can increase retail selling space or free up workspace in their existing facility and have supplies arrive as needed. DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express continues to provide door-to-door service in Alaska, with Span Alaska as its primary service provider. DHX and Span Alaska continue to collaborate to ensure the service levels and consistency meet your expectations to your tailored requirements.
