DHX - Dependable Hawaiian Express
11/1/2021
Dear Valued Customer,
The following is provided for your information:
Holiday Schedules
In observation of the Thanksgiving holiday, the DAX-Dependable Alaskan Express Kent office will be closed on November 25th and 26th. We will have one sailing to Alaska on Wednesday, November 24. The cargo cutoff for K.F.F., hazardous and refrigerated freight, is 10:00 A.M., and for dry cargo, the cutoff is 2:00 P.M on Wednesday, November 24. There will not be a sailing from Tacoma on Friday, November 26th. Please plan accordingly for booking, dispatching, and equipment needs. If you have any questions, please contact our Kent office directly at (253) 872-6599.
Alaska Fuel Related Surcharge Increase
As previously announced, due to the substantial increase in fuel prices, Alaska ocean carriers will increase their fuel-related surcharges by 3%, from 29% to 32%, effective Sunday, November 14, 2021.
We will continue to monitor the Alaska ocean carrier fuel surcharge and adjust our fuel surcharges accordingly.

Coronavirus
There is so much news available, and we felt it was not necessary to comment other than to state that from the U.S. Mainland, there have been no delays impacting Alaska. Imports from Asia are still experiencing delays as a result of some ocean carriers canceling sailings, thus impacting air freight capacity.
At the Dependable Companies, we maintain an Emergency Response Plan to ensure your shipments and our services remain consistent. This plan includes our Associates and Management working from home, as well as providing us all with as safe a workplace as possible under the circumstances. Our goal is to continue to serve you with the excellent service to which you are accustomed. We are working hard and smart to continue to provide solutions during these difficult times!
Should you have additional questions, please contact your local office at (253) 872-6599 or our Corporate Customer Service Center at (800) 488-4888, Ext. 2020, or email us at Alaska@dhx.com.
Thank you for your business - we appreciate it!
