BREAKING ALERT

Subject:  Guam Service Update #1

Dear Valued Customer:

As you may be aware, Typhoon Mawar caused major damage on Guam the day before yesterday. Most of the island is currently without power, and significant damage from the storm has impacted roads and property. The typhoon has now passed, and recovery efforts are underway.

Our Guam Terminal remains closed at this time. We intend to open Guam operations as soon as possible, pending weather and road conditions. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide you with updates.

Matson is in communication with the Port Authority of Guam and the U.S. Coast Guard and understands that assessments of Apra Harbor and the Port of Guam are in progress.

Matson’s vessel Maunawili 234W, originally scheduled to arrive Tuesday, May 23, has been sheltering near Guam and is poised to complete its call as soon as the port is reopened. Once the vessel arrives in port, Matson plans to commence cargo operations immediately. Refrigerated containers have been fully powered throughout the voyage and, once discharged, will continue to be powered either from the electrical system at the port, with portable generators, or with Matson gensets.

The next two scheduled Guam voyages are en route and on time. Manoa 483W has an ETA of Tuesday, May 30, and Manukai 237W has an ETA of the following Tuesday, June 6. As a result of the recent deployment of the two newest Con-Ro vessels, Matsonia and Lurline, into the CLX service, each of these ships will call Guam every five weeks, adding regularly scheduled roll-on / roll-off capabilities for Matson customers.

We will continue to monitor any developments from Matson and update you as needed.
